Regenerator – Zabok

About Us

The story of Regenerator began back in 2009, when a group of volunteers, gathered within the association of the same name, was given the use of an empty factory hall in the industrial zone of Zabok. With enthusiasm, extensive volunteer effort, and the support of the City of Zabok, the Krapina-Zagorje County, and the local community, the previously neglected space was transformed into a functional club.
Between 2009 and 2020, more than 200 cultural events were held at Regenerator, shaping the identity of this space. After that period, the City of Zabok began a major renovation of the entire complex, giving it its present appearance.
The Public Institution for Culture Center for Urban Culture Regenerator was founded by the City of Zabok in 2023. The institution manages the facility and its programs, organizes a variety of cultural activities, promotes culture through both traditional and alternative forms of presentation, and brings it closer to the public. The institution’s operations and programs are included in the Program of Public Cultural Needs of the City of Zabok.
From an infrastructural standpoint, the Center’s spaces are fully accessible to persons with various types of disabilities, who are also entitled to free admission to all Center programs that would otherwise require a fee.
Based on an agreement with the City of Zabok, a Youth Space has been established within the facility, which includes a volunteer center and hosts civil society organizations, primarily those from the creative industries sector and youth-focused initiatives.
As support infrastructure for cultural and creative activities, the institution also includes offices intended for business entities from these sectors, available for lease. The hostel and café also operate on a rental basis.
The Center for Urban Culture Regenerator is a place for creating content and fulfilling public cultural needs. By utilizing existing indoor and outdoor spaces and its own human resources, in collaboration with the Center’s users and tenants, as well as individuals and organizations, the Center brings people together and builds relationships through diverse programs. It is a space that provides support, hosts various programs and individual activities, with a particular focus on music, intercultural content, and social connections, while continuously developing cultural and artistic programs.
