The story of Regenerator began back in 2009, when a group of volunteers, gathered within the association of the same name, was given the use of an empty factory hall in the industrial zone of Zabok. With enthusiasm, extensive volunteer effort, and the support of the City of Zabok, the Krapina-Zagorje County, and the local community, the previously neglected space was transformed into a functional club.
Between 2009 and 2020, more than 200 cultural events were held at Regenerator, shaping the identity of this space. After that period, the City of Zabok began a major renovation of the entire complex, giving it its present appearance.
The Public Institution for Culture Center for Urban Culture Regenerator was founded by the City of Zabok in 2023. The institution manages the facility and its programs, organizes a variety of cultural activities, promotes culture through both traditional and alternative forms of presentation, and brings it closer to the public. The institution’s operations and programs are included in the Program of Public Cultural Needs of the City of Zabok.
From an infrastructural standpoint, the Center’s spaces are fully accessible to persons with various types of disabilities, who are also entitled to free admission to all Center programs that would otherwise require a fee.
