AJMO! Continues at Regenerator!
In its second season, we have once again been approved for the AJMO! project, jointly implemented by the Ministry of Culture and Media of the Republic of Croatia and the Croatian Music Export Office. AJMO! has already proven to be an important tool in developing balanced concert activities and strengthening local cultural infrastructure.
The contracts were awarded on September 12 as part of the SHIP Festival, once again turning Šibenik into the musical and cultural center of the Adriatic. By September 14, the third edition of the SHIP Festival had delivered its richest and most diverse program to date featuring 49 performers from 25 countries, 114 speakers from 33 countries, and 500 delegates from 54 countries around the world. A segment of the festival program was dedicated specifically to the AJMO! project.
This year’s AJMO! includes four concerts featuring a total of eight performers. In selecting them, we were once again guided by genre diversity, grounded in our strategic directions, past experience, and results from research conducted over the past two years. We also emphasize our collaboration with Club Azimut from Šibenik and the Youth Center Čakovec, with the shared goal of enabling concerts to be connected into mini-tours.
Of course, we continue our cooperation with the local community, and an important part of the program is the discussion forum “Let’s Go to the Panel!” (Ajmo na tribinu!). Small venues, while offering unique opportunities for intimate events and community engagement, often face challenges related to limited space, logistics, financial resources, marketing, promotion, staffing, and other constraints. The panel will bring together representatives of similar small clubs from across Croatia, as well as media, performers, local community members, donors, and management. It will showcase examples of good practice and explore opportunities and models for improvement, including funding options, creating more personal and engaging visitor experiences, fostering flexibility and creativity, and enhancing community involvement.
In any case, from October this year to March next year, AJMO! in Zabok promises plenty of great music and exciting accompanying programs!
